Silly as it sounds, I am a bit irritated at the alarm sounding off for a third time. It's like a nagging friend who is anal about being punctual. If the phone could talk, it be saying, "CATHERINE! Time to get up. Come on now, up..up up. It's 6:10, and you have to be clocked in by 6:15!" Yes, yes, here I come. Reluctantly, I roll out of bed, and wobble to my desk in the den, to sign on at work.
Tired--I need energy. If you recall, I started a challenge to drink protein shakes every morning, to break the overnight fasting. I am still doing great on that. Only 11 more days to complete the challenge, and on it goes as a newly developed healthy habit. Yey! However, it doesn't give me an boost of energy. So I had started another challenge, to take my vitamins as needed. I do suck at taking pills daily. I don't care for gummies, either. I did find the liquid vitamin, "Alive". I actually started the vitamin ritual about the 10th, and had not had time to really post anything about doing another challenge.
So here's my supplement ritual at 6:30 A.M.:
- Whey Protein Shake
- 1 scoop of cookies n cream "Isoplus-no carb" whey protein
- 1/2 cup of "light/original flavored" Silk milk
- 1/4 cup of crushed ice
- 1 Oreo cookie (the cookie helps make the shake more palatable)
- Blend
- Pour in small blender shake cup. The protein tends to drop to the bottom, so I like to shake it up again in the cup before I drink some.
- "Alive" liquid multi vitamin
- 1 cap full --The taste is bearable. It's dark green, and a bit thick. Has a tangy taste too it.
- I chase it down with a 1/4 cup of pomegranate juice. I use POM because it's the most purest type of pomegranate juice out there. Definitely will get a good dose of antioxidants from this concentrated drink.
- Iron Pills
- 1 pill, drink with full glass of water
- Benefiber
- 1 chewable tablet.
- I take this right before I start consuming the protein shake. It helps to fill me up, and curb hunger a bit longer.
Feel free to ak questions about the supplements I take. Education is key to working through the challenges, and moving on to a healthier life style. We can learn from each other, and together!
