So there it is. The problem with pity parties is that it perpetuates procrastination, pare perseverance, and prevents positive progress. Ha! Did you make through that maze of P's?
If you have ever found yourself caught in a web of self-defeat, it's time to break free.
The ultimate step: Forgive Thy Self.
There can be no pity party where there is peace within. It's hard enough to forgive others, so obviously it would be more difficult to acknowledge our own shortcomings, accept it, and put it to rest. When we let go, it lifts an incredible burden off our chest. The cloudiness once filling our minds begins to clear, and we can start moving again. This is a spiritual adjustment. For me, it was a quote that I read:
"I have faith in HIM, not in my faith"
--unknown
Not to step on toes here--we all may believe in some spiritual path to peace. Whatever it is that you believe, the point is to have faith in that higher power that carries you through adversity, not in yourself. You and I, are designed to be fallible. So, it's okay.
Today, I commit to daily prayer/meditation to follow through with my goals.I encourage you to maintain this attitude. Share with me your ways of staying spiritually strong.
